News for Alumni

July 6, 2004
Dear Alumnus of the IPFW Computer Science Department,

Greetings! We would like to begin a continuing dialogue with you, as the department enters some exciting new times. We want to make sure that you know we care about you and what experiences you have encountered since your graduation.

Why? Here is a very important reason, using the words of a former university president:
“ One may judge a University by its faculty, its research, or its students, but the best measure is the quality and character of its alumni, as reflected in their professional achievement, in their citizen service, in the way they live and in the values by which they live.”
Dr. David Dodds Henry, President Emeritus, University of Illinois, 1955-71

The “Brag Sheet” developed during the Fall term in 2003 is a good summary of current department activities. There will be some new and updated entries for the Fall term of 2004, and we want to include input from you! (see survey below) Some planned updates include the following:

Please complete this survey and a little token of our appreciation will be sent to you by return mail within a week of receiving your answers! A summary, profiling CS alumni, will be part of the first annual CS Newsletter. We plan to start in the Spring, 2005, just to keep you up-to-date with the activities here and to solicit your suggestions on such items as curriculum, students, labs, networks, student internships, faculty/industry collaboration, etc.
